I recently purchased a home and wanted to get my locks re-keyed and have my garage door reset. I had called around to many places and Texas Rekey was the best service for the money. It was $59.99 for the service call, re-keying of up to 6 locks and 4 keys. Other places charged anywhere from $20-30 for the service call and then $17-20 for each lock that needed to be re-keyed. When I had called Texas Rekey to inquire about their service, I also asked about the garage door and if the person re-keying the locks could also do the garage. The man that I talked to had to talk to his supervisor and took my info and called me back within an hour. Great customer service! The garage door was an additional $15 and totally worth it. The service guy, I believe his name was Gerard, worked on the garage door opener for almost an hour. It was more complicated then we both thought! If you are looking for a good deal for re-keying go with Texas Rekey. You will be happy you did. I know I am.

This father and son team consistently delivers excellence. They came out to my house to put in a peep hole and keyless deadbolt, but checked all my window locks and fixed my back door locks which I didn\’t even know hadn\’t been installed properly.

I had Texas ReKey out today to re-lock and bring up to code a house I plan on renting. The person who answered my call explained the various codes and requirements I would need to have to be up to code. They also informed me of the various costs for time and parts for each and every aspect of the job that would be done. They also were able to have a locksmith at the house the same day!

I have done Business with this company for nearly 18 years back then a once man show operated out of a van. Over the past nearly two decades I have never once been disappointed. Mr Rekey consistently has on time performance, never any mishaps and always solutions oriented. Because I have worked with them so long I never knew about some of the other services they offer.
So today when Ernie and Mike fulfilled my order of changing the locks at a new rental Management project they let me know that I needed some smoke detectors and even checked all of the windows to make sure they locked and installed a window lock. I called Mr. Rekey, and navigated through the phone tree, and listened to the CEO of the company, Mr. Rekey himself thanking me, and how much he values my patronage. We turned our home into a rental property and needed to bring the locks up to code. Most other people I called quoted me between $100 and $150 PER KEYLESS DEADBOLT just to install them. Mr. Rekey only charged me about $100 for all three and they look great! They also checked the depth of the plate screws and replaced the shorter ones with long ones so it would be more difficult to break in to. Once the deadbolts were in they rekeyed everything and gave me four brand new keys. Mike and Ernie were so great! Instantly trusted them and they were both so thorough and careful about everything. They even went the extra mile and checked all my smoke detecters at no charge. I had the pleasure of getting a visit from Mike and Ernie of Mr. Rekey, and I received exceptional service. I\’m leasing a property, and my property manager hired Mr. Rekey to fix the locks on the sliding glass door in the condo. This is very important because this is the main door that we use to get in and out of the condo.

A previous locksmith from a different company came over twice and finally fixed the lock, but left it in somewhat shoddy condition — the sliding glass door handle was very loose, and susceptible to breaking in my opinion. Ernie installed a door brace within 5 minutes and it now works properly, without any jiggle. They also completely removed the faulty charlie bar on the door and installed a pin lock for added security. In addition, they did a check on the front door, which was completely above and beyond what we hired them for, and made sure it was working correctly. Mike and Ernie completed the job within approximately twenty minutes, where a different company took around an hour over two days, and didn\’t even completely finish the job.

Lastly, Ernie did a quick repair on our bathroom door lock, which again, was completely above and beyond what I was expecting. It now functions a bit better than before.

Our management company hired Mr. Rekey to come repair some locks on our back door. Our security bolt was coming off and our door handle was sticking, sometimes turning, sometimes not.

I didn\’t hire Mr ReKey myself, they were hired by the property management for my rental home to rekey and bring the house up to code. The technicians were suppose to arrive between 1 and 3, but after a previous job ran particularly long (for which they called to notify me on 2 occasions), Ernie and his son Mike showed up with smiles on their faces and were quick and professional! If I ever need such a service done in the future, you bet I\’ll be calling and requesting for Ernie and Mike to come by!

I was so surprised yesterday when I received a call minutes after my online service request with First American Home Warranty. Usually I have to wait at least a day before I hear from anyone after initiating a service call request. After failing to get an apparently difficult to make spare key made at two other places I stopped by their corporate office yesterday not realizing they\’re mostly mobile locksmiths. The staff were extremely helpful and even though there were no locksmiths around at that time they kindly offered to have me leave my key there and when a locksmith came by the office they would have a key made for me that I could pick up. Stopping back by after work they had my key ready and gave it to me free of charge which was very unexpected. Can\’t say enough about how out of their way everyone went to make sure I was taken care of. Would highly recommend using them.

A while back I was in a pinch between a rock and a hard place waiting for the other shoe to drop. I kept envisioning a crazy person busting into my house and starting mess because even though he\’d given me the keys back, he is, as previously stated, crazy. Needed our rental house rekeyed. Called in the morning, and they were out early in the afternoon. The tech rekeyed 6 locks in about 40 minutes. Very fast, efficient, and the price was very fair.

We just moved to a new house – it was lived in previously by the owners, so apparently wasn\’t up to \”rental code\” with the locks. Our new property management company set up the work order with Mr. Rekey to come and get the house up to code in that regard after we moved in. The person who called to schedule the appt with me was extremely nice – we agreed on a Monday appt between 11-1.

I got a call on Monday morning from one of the locksmiths asking if it would be alright if they came a little later due to lots of appts in other areas – I work from home, so this was definitely no biggie, and I was mainly just glad they called and asked; I\’m pretty confident that if it had been a problem, they would have done everything they could to get here when needed. The locksmith called again to let me know they were about 30 minutes away – again, super glad that they called so I had time to put my dog up.

All in all, I think they were very professional, and very quick. They were in and out of my house within about 40 minutes, and they had to add a brand new deadbolt to the front door, add a new lock bar to the back door, change out locks on the garage door, test fire extinguishers, etc.

I waa locked out of ny house today and they did an amazong jon helping me. I was told it would be 45-60 mins before they could get to my house and he was here in under 20 mins. My technician name was Mark Lodon and he was amazing. I asked if I could tip him and he said he was just doing his job so I called the company and bragged about him. I would call them if I even get locked out again. He even put a new plate on my door that had to be drilled into and offered to set my gradge door opener so this would never happen again. I called Mr. ReKey to have two new deadbolts added to existing doors. Customer service rep (Mike) was very friendly when he took my call and they had wide availability for immediate appointments. Terrence came out and was friendly, right on time of when he said he\’d be here, and he carefully cleaned up everything after he was done. The locks were installed really quick and they look great. I\’m very happy I found Mr. ReKey on Yelp. The 5 star ratings are very well deserved.

We were offered services from Mr. Rekey from our warranty company (Home Warranty of America). We had Tim come rekey our locks and he provided excellent service. He had a mask, explained what he was doing, and gave us options on how to pair specific keys with specific doors. He was quick and worked efficiently, and provided us with two set of keys. I recently just moved into my home. I knew I needed to get my locks done but kept putting it off. Came to Yelp to find a good locksmith. I went to the website. Put in a request online for service. They have a special that is like 6 locks for $64 (includes tax). The next day I was contacted to confirm the request for an appointment. A 4 hour window was given. Larry showed up during my appointment window (he called when he was on his way). He went about his business. And within about 35 minutes, he was done. 6 locks – rekeyed. 4 keys handed to me for the locks. And then he was gone. Easy. Fast. Professional.

My deadbolt to my RV would not turn the key to unlock – they were able to fit me in the same day when I explained I wanted to get on the road the next morning. They arrived during the time frame they promised. I got a new deadbolt that uses the same keys I already had and the total cost was $90.

The office staff were professional and quick to schedule the appointment, and the technician Cordell called ahead of time to confirm his arrival time and arrived promptly as he indicated. He quickly rekeyed the doors I needed and performed general maintenance as well. He was professional, friendly and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs locksmith service.

My condo\’s door is about 40 years old and has probably had more locks in it than a [insert unsavory analogy here]. As a result, not only were the drillholes complete stripped, the ones on top were busted through to the latch hole completely! Combine that with a door frame that had so many face lifts it looked creepy, and you\’ve got the situation I am in.

So first, I tried to fix it myself – bought a deadbolt and lever. Uninstalled existing locks just to have the whole thing collapse in a pile of sawdust. Tried to wedge it in myself (unsuccessfully). I knew this was beyond me. So I called Mr. Rekey. Real person (Christine) picked up and got me scheduled for the same day. Said they\’d be here between 1 – 5pm. In my experience, that usual means 6pm or later, so I didn\’t have high hopes.

I got a call right at 1 from Jack, the locksmith, who would be there in 30 minutes. Great lead time in case I was out of the house. Showed up right when he said he would at 1:30, assessed the situation correctly (\”fubar\”, ha!!), and proceeded to fix my massive problem without having to have me get the condo association involved to fix the whole door. Fast, courteous, professional, and best of all, since I had already \”installed\” the handle and deadbolt (loosely speaking), he didn\’t charge me for the installation – just the service call charge, which was completely reasonable for the amount of boring (as in, to bore) and adjusting he had to do to our door frame.

Door opens and even shuts now! My wife is currently locked out of the house! Should I give her the new key? Only time will tell!

I found Texas Rekey Service here at Yelp. It appears they have branches all over and they direct you to the locksmith closest to the area where you need service. I was nervous because I saw a couple of bad reviews here but most were pretty good. I called them and they gave me a solid price via phone. I told them I would not go through with the deal if they showed up and changed the price (that was a complaint for one of the Rekey Service companies). They came through for me just fine. They did all the locks on my house and gave us 4 keys for $69.99 plus tax. I will use them again when I need locks changed unless I find a better price. So if you are near Plugerville, this is a decent find.

After a day filled with fun and misadventure, one of my spare house keys went missing and I wasn\’t too keen on having my belongings walked out the front door. Enter Mr. Rekey.

I was able to set up an appointment time convenient with my schedule and received a confirmation email of the time the following day. The day of the service call, I received a call from the technician earlier than the expected window and let him know I could be available in 15-20 minutes.

The technician showed up approximately 20 minutes later and clearly explained the process to me after having me show him the doors to be re-keyed. All-in-all, the entire process probably took 15 minutes.

Super impressed with technicians Mike and Ernie! They were prompt, courteous and professional. They called thirty minutes before arriving and arrived right on time.

We just arrived in the area and leased a brand new home. Leasing agent arranged for Mr. Rekey to come out and remove lock box, re key doors, etc. When this team showed up, I still had no electric. They were not any any way deterred by this fact as they informed me, they were prepared for this type of situation.

They promptly got going and re-keyed the house, checked all windows and locks. They checked that the garage door worked properly (electric providers arrived soon after) and checked all smoke detectors. By doing so, they discovered that the builder had failed to install one smoke detector and that one was not functioning. They installed the missing smoke detector and replaced the non functioning one. Finally, Mike cleaned out the front door peep hole and installed one that apparently was missing in the garage door! I had no idea that garage doors must now have a peep hole as they are an exit door.

Then when finished, Mike and Ernie pulled out their mini vac and cleaned up! See what I mean? Ernie and Mike were not only thorough, they just did a great job! I think they deserve super hero Rekey capes!
